Heat Wave

It was HOT yesterday. Like, almost seventy five degrees!

I know. But we're acclimated now, and temperatures in the seventies feel hot to us. I set the kids up with a tub of water and some plastic fish, and they had a good ol' time. They sat in it, used their hats to scoop it, poured it from bucket to bottle to fishy mouth, and made a super soggy spot in the lawn. Meanwhile I stacked concrete blocks at the back of what will someday (someday!) be a raised planting bed. I put plenty of sunscreen on the children. I sunburned my upper back.

Tucson family, the temperatures I see on your forecast are appalling. Be safe!

Everyone, please tell us where you are and what your high temp was yesterday.

We got to 90deg. With humidity that made it feel like 94! But we can't complain with what's happening in the West! Stay cool!

Lynnwood WA, 71 degrees. Felt a lot hotter than that though, with the humidity. I could used a splash in some cool water today! Looks delish!

Yesterday, I think it made it to 90 here also. The thermometer on the kitchen window said it was 100 on the garden side of the house. It was even warmer a few days ago. Pretty warm for here. You'll be glad to know your dad got some cooling going in the house. Sleeping in the back bedrooms will be much more comfortable than last time!

We got to 89 degrees and we were suffering. I guess we have acclimated to our spot too. That tub of water is a great idea. I think I'll get myself a baby pool.

My outdoor thermometer in the shade registered 118 yesterday. We still had a good time in the pool with lots of sunscreen spf 50.
