On the day David was in Oregon buying the car, I went to a vista point just a few miles from the house to look for whales. They were spouting intermittently in the far distance in a vast expanse of ocean, so Zoe couldn't quite catch sight of them. Vince was asleep, so he didn't see them either. I didn't know what color car David would be bringing home (he didn't either - other features were more important). When I saw the VW, it brought to mind the sleek gray whales.

Thank you! I was dying to see it!!! Very nice but not too "whale-like", except color! Pretty sleek! Glad to hear you saw the whales! They were reported in our news, and I wondered if they were close enough to you!
Enjoy!!!
We were curious to see the car also! The whales and car will be forever tied together in your memories. Hopefully, you'll all get to see the spouting another time.
Sounds like you broke the car in well on Mother's day! The pictures David posted on facebook were beautiful - especially the people in them!
Congratulations! That's a great looking car and it gets great reviews! Glad you found one that's fun to drive, will fit the whole family and also gets great gas mileage.
I saw a car like yours on the road today, looked good! I love the association with the whales. Too bad they were too far away for Zoe to see. There will be other times though.
