Bean Counter

Wind, ash, and bugs have left our bean plants tattered and forlorn looking, but they are producing green beans anyway.

Gorgeous photo.

Our pest was a marmot. It was tolerable when he was nibbling the low hanging green beans. When he managed to climb into the tub and mow down the plants themselves, he became public enemy #1! Despite his browsing, we filled two and a half 5 gal pails with green beans yesterday. Today was spent processing said beans. Beets are on the schedule for tomorrow.

Mom, it's not just anybody that can say a marmot ate their green beans.
