Our farm share continues to be a wonderful thing. Flowers, fruit, vegetables, a beautiful setting and a good time. Today we showed Grandma Lorna and Grandpa Stan around, and Auntie Megan got to see it all again. The kids love romping on the hay bale fort. Only raspberries - five per kid, freshly picked - could lure them away.

Garden Stroll
We enjoy strolling around the grounds of a nearby health care facility. There is a small network of paved trails wending through trees and open areas, over bridges and around swales, and eventually back to a big garden full of flowers and fruit trees and vegetables.
Bull Creek
A search for water to play in and big trees to admire took us south to Bull Creek. Perfect Sunday afternoon.

Camping!
We had so much fun! The drive took us through some gorgeous country, the campground was fairly small and quiet, and our site was peaceful and beautiful. The weather was super stinking hot (you know--for us) on the day we arrived, so the creek felt great. Zoe and Vince plunged right into the water. They had to sit down to get wet to the waist.
Highlights for the kids were the creek, marshmallows, creek! marshmallows!! I loved watching the kids have fun, a sunset game of Scrabble with David (he got me by almost a hundred points--rematch required), and crawling into a tent to sleep next to my sacked out little boy (Zoe and David bunked together; our tent setup sleeps four, but in two tents). I don't often get to watch either child sleep these days, and it was sweet. Vincent slept solidly, and mostly in his designated space.
This was our first family camping trip. Seems crazy that we've waited so long, but the timing also feels perfect. The kids had a blast, and so did the grown ups.
